Not all Bi-Polar work like the Self-Centering Bipolar. The difference is positive eccentricity. As downward force is applied, the centers align themselves to the proper anatomic position and proper load distribution. In terms of wear, the Bi-Polar dual articulation uses primary internal articulation to help reduce secondary acetabular articulation and associated acetabular wear.
